My 24th Birthday

And this day comes again.. And I have maintained the consistency of the title.. hehe

Well, this was my first birthday after entering the corporate life. Birthdays at schools and colleges have an entirely different meaning than the birthday at the office. Friends are there, ofcourse, but there is a very thick line between a friend and a colleague.

My last year's birthday was an absolute fun.

This year's birthday started with an absolute ill omen. My Reliance phone broke down and so did many calls which I might have received at 12 midnight. Nevertheless, got lots of wishes, expected all but one.

I reached office on time today. Sharp 9 am, only to see that even the customary balloons were missing from my desk. However, after I had spent good 10 minutes on my workstation, the office boys came and put up the decoration. But alas, till then, no one wished me. It was only after seeing the decoration that people realized it was my birth day today. Everyone was so engrossed with their stuff.

Even I had too much of work today. Birthdays in corporate life has no meaning. Literally. Even a 5-10 min chit-chat with colleagues at one of the best companies in terms of fun was too much. Everyone went back to their work and just forgot. But then, what is someone expected to do also? Hehe..

But the best part, and though expected, they ordered a cake for me. It was so tasty, that everyone praised Dipti who ordered it (though I had set my preference even before and had asked to procure this one only). :)

Stepped out of office not before 7:30 and went to Mandir.. I think after a long long time. Came back to home at about 9.

By mistake, I forgot to remove my birthday notification from Facebook. I always want to see that who remembers my birthday actually, not using reminders like these. Anyways, a large number of friends wished me. Felt awesome in the end. Hehe

Finally, I am 24 now. Time to get mature, time to get serious in life. Hope I get a girl this year now, so that I celebrate the quarter century of my life with her. Lol...
